Weekends!

Yes! So nice to have a relaxing weekend!
Relaxing - means that my head is free from work. that doesn't mean I don't keep myself busy :) Rasa had a friend's visit, and we decided to do a small discovery of Belgium - visiting teh town of Dinant. It was absolutely fabulous, something I've never seen in Belgium. Really interesting architecture, and the Citadel was really worth seeing. And, what is more, nature is very easily accessible over there - the town is more or less in the forest. very very nice, reminds me of the bank of Neris river next to my home in Vilnius. Nice feeling of tranquility. make sure you check the pictures (link on the right), some sights look like paintings to me!

And we didn't stop after Dinant. In the evening we decided to go for an adventure: it all started with a bit of wine and snacks, and ended up in a train to Antwerp late at night, finding the best club over there, and partying all night long till the first trains back to Brussels. Thanks to a consultation of a local person, it was really the best place - Cafe D'Anvers is a place you really have to go to when you're in Antwerp. And I could say that female crowd really tends to receive a lot of attention :)

Trip back to Brussels was very interesting, including sudden wake-ups by the train staff and orders to change trains and other stuff. I didn't really care, was too tired to complain.

Sunday sleep in, Almante had to leave to the airport early, but me, Rasa and her colleague met up in teh afternoon to see the one and only Atomium, which is still one of the greatest architectural creatons I've ever seen. Even though it's built for the same reason as Eiffel Tower in Paris (expo), I still think that Atomium is more fascinating building. It really makes me think of universe when I see it. The inside, however, was not completely finished, so not that impressive as outside, but it was still a good fun to see the history how it was built, see the pictures of little people repairing the roof on the top of the balls, and teh whole spaceship-like installation.

I will definitely upload some pictures in coming days.

I love my weekends so much!
