Flashback....WENA/CEE ER meeting and Amsterdam

Hey people,

It's been quite a busy and travelling time for me, and it's time to catch up with updates from my life :)

For those who are overwhelmed by the abbreviations in the title - don't worry, it just means Europe and North America :) 17-20 of November was dedicated to The Netherlands:) I went for a External Relations (ER) conference in Rotterdam, and had a wonderful time there. Training by ING, networking with other ER people in Europe, and then spending a great weekend visiting Amsterdam and chilling in Rotterdam.

Some highlights... ER meeting was one of those things that made me think 'I love my job!' . First day was held in ING office, with a panoramic view of Rotterdam :) It looked like SimCity PC game, one side was commercial area, other - residential :) very funny :) The whole day sessions were provided and catered by ING, we were almost convinced that this is the company of our dreams. And it was a nice environment to chat around with other ER people. Second day for me was a bit of a work, as I am a part of task force, but I never regret that international involvement :) It was cool, and we came up with quite some solutions.
What is more, I got to see Laura, Ruta and Romas - the whole Lithuanian connection in one place :) Always nice to remember own funny language :)

After that Goda and Amritha came to Rotterdam as well, and the fun weekend started... Satiurday afternoon - we are in Amsterdam.
Amsterdam is amazing. It's a bit surreal. Just see the pictures.... On your left you see typical picture of Amsterdam - architecture, canal and bikes. Goda took a gazilion of pictures of this city. It looked a bit funny seeing her being worse than a japanese tourist, but thanks to her we all can enjoy the best sights and moments :) And a huge huge thanks to Floor who took her time to show those beuties :)

The whole surreality comes when the it gets dark. There are two major higlights - Red Lights District and Coffee shops. We've been to both. The first one is like a fake city, having everything - shops, malls, bars, clubs, even theatres, but in the special Red Lights style. In the picture you see one of the T-shirts that you can buy there. And during all the walk there I had a phrase 'Weed is in the air....' in my head :) Of course one coffee shop was also visited, it was one of the cool ones, called The Grasshopper (see above), with a few floors, with dancefloor and a normal bar included, that means if you don't want to smoke you can just chill and have a beer in a non-weed-in-the-air area.
