Quote of the evening

'My English is regressing. Now at my work I have clients only from West Flanders and they don't even speak Dutch'

/Annelies, my Outgoing Preparation Seminar co-facilitator/

Overbooked

Happy Easter Everyone!

I had a great decadent weekend where I attended spas and had salmon breakfast with champagne.

This week is special. I am overbooked over the top, and it seems like the list is growing faster than ever.. I guess that's normal, when you have a conference on teh weekend and flying to another conference in Lithuania next week.

And then some random things pop out such as LC LLN elections, missing the last train and staying for the party, last minute Review Board, other random personal stuff. And I still ahve to pack at some point!

But you know, I'll manage. Just apologies if I will not find the time for writing to you guys. Until I get back.

Musicroom: liveplasma.com

For music lovers like me this is a great site for dicovery - LivePlasma.com . This site links different bands and artist according to style similarities. It draws a map and allocates band names according to how close or far tehy are from each other. I love it, that helped me to update my playlist with teh greatest music ever :)

By the way, the same tool works for movies, too.

Success

It's nice to have a planning review, see that most of the things are going well... Team achievements have improved so much, it's incredible. of course, not everything is perfecto, and I think that so much more could have been better or in a different way... However, that would be a lesson.
The only feeling that I'm trying to get rid of, if emptyness and that it all is coming to an end. It's not really, 4 months to go. But still, I know it will be hard to leave when so much good stuff is going on :)

Apart from that, yesterday inetrn drink was moved to Leuven, which was also very nice. Leuven by night is beautiful! And the interns there are fantastic! Great time.

Circumstances

Last weekend was supposed to be kept for a nice trip to the middle of nowhere, however, I got to become a victim of circumstances. Alumni Event on Friday went well, I got to meet some incredible people, like President of AIESEC Alumni International, interesting people from different generations, Eric from board of Advisors, members, interns... Nice people in the nice place.
Saturday morning was supposed to be a start of the trip. But it wasn`t. So I did a trip around my lovely Schaerbeek (section of the city we live in) and discovered some new things about it. Also went to teh gym on the most intensive training session, after which I could hardly move. But a Russian party was also planned for that night, and I had the best fun of the party making pancakes for it and twisting them in the air. I have never seen so many people fitting in our house. It was crazy drunken party, although something was missing. Or someone, maybe. It was great to practice my Russian with the locals. As from now on, I talk to Elena (roommate) only Russian. At least one language should be practiced in this country.
Sunday, finally, a trip. To Waterloo. I was amazingly tired, but Waterloo was exciting. And, again, we didn`t plan to spend so much time there! Circumstances... I will show you the pictures.

Now I am at Elie`s place, just before OPS premeeting. Great dinner by Annnelies and we are off to start.

Musicroom: Darius Danesh - Colourblind

Feeling blue
When I'm trying to forget the feeling
That I miss you

Feeling green
When the jealousy swells and it won't
Go away in dreams

Feeling yellow
I'm confused inside a little hazy but mellow
When I feel your eyes on me

Feeling fine, sublime
When that smile of yours
Creeps into my mind

ohhhh.....

Nobody told me it feels so good
Nobody said you'd be so beautiful
Nobody warned me about your smile
You're the light
You're the light
When I close my eyes
I'm colourblind
You make me colourblind

Feeling red
When you spend all your time with your friends
And not me instead

Feeling black
When I think about all of the things that
I feel I lack

Feeling jaded
When it's not gone right
All the colours have faded
Then I feel your eyes on me

Feeling fine, sublime
When that smile of yours
Creeps into my mind

mmmm....

Nobody told me it feels so good
Nobody said you'd be so beautiful

Nobody warned me about your smile
You're the light
You're the light
When I close my eyes
I'm colourblind
You make me colourblind

Blinded by the light you shine
The colours fade completely
Blinded by you everytime
I feel your smile defeat me
I'm colourblind
I just can't deny this feeling

Nobody told me it feels so good
Nobody said you'd be so beautiful
Nobody warned me about your smile
You're the light
You're the light
When I close my eyes
I'm colourblind

Nobody told me it feels so good
Nobody said you'd be so beautiful
Nobody warned me about your smile
You're the light
You're the light
When I close my eyes
I'm colourblind
(your the light
your the light
when i close my eyes)
You make me colourblind

(your the light
your the light
when i close my eyes)
you make me colorblind

(your the light
your the light
when i close my eyes
i'm colorblind)

(fading)
nobody told me it feels so good...

Decision

Some of you may know that my deadline for decision about the future was end of March. Well, I was a bit later than that, but I'm glad I finally made one :)

I have 4 more months to do the best work I ever had. ER rulez. ER in the MC is the best. And not necessarily in Belgium, i would have loved it anywhere. Still got tons of good stuff to do here, that will keep me pretty busy until summer :)

After those 4 months I have decided to go on Exchange phase in my @ eXPerience. In human laguage that means I am applying for an internship :)

And also contributing to AIESEC as a trainer will be in my plans. AIESEC is incredible.

After NatCo

The third Belgian AIESEC National Conference in my term closed yesterday.
Although it doesn't mean that that's it, our work is over, we can just chill now. Not at all, we still have 4 moths to go!

However, I feel that something is over. I think the main thing I'm gonna miss is people. Throughout my year I have met so many incredible people in AIESEC in Belgium, and those 4 months will not be enough to see them all. Time...

Time issue started before the very beginning when we got lost on our way to the site, randomly lost the wheel-disk of Kevin's car,

The conference was great. I have reached a top of my conference management, managing the agenda with around 20 externals, coordinating blocks of 5 parralel workshops, running the conference itself. The atmosphere was great, kartik is an incredible persona nd incredible chair. Delegates were very up and active throughout the whole conference, jumping up with the roll-calls and partying like crazy, and also attending sessions in the morning. The parties were exciting, full of aiesec-dancing and chats with great people.

Teh only thing I was missing in the conference, was Time. Not talking about sleeping time. Time for everything.
... for sessions, to tell everything one wants to tell
... for lunch, to have it before the start of external agenda
... for changing before the official dinner
... for talking to members, on a pure informal basis
... for perfection in details. But I am happy with excellence.

At any case, this conference has been super duper great. Every single person I had time to talk to - I had incredible conversations, every single session we delivered was positively perceived, every single dance I danced, I've enjoyed it, every single external session delivered was rewarding, every single logistical question in place made me happy. And again, I want to stress on people. People made it the best! People like Jornt, John, Aurelien, Maggy, Younes, Jean, Eve, Kartik, Rafik, Samuel, Laura, Agi, Beatrice, Florian, Antony, Liesbeth, Stephanie, Justine, Wim, Kartik, and many many more...

I could talk all night about it, but you wouldn't read anyway :P better see the pix, which will be uploaded soon. I think I should move my blog to flickr as it's easier for me to just comment pictures, but uploading pictures in blogger takes time :)
