Apdeit of za wyk (aka Update of the Week)

I keep on having brilliant thoughts to share with you and not having computer besides on the right moment. So now everything will be put together in one post...

First part of the week was crazy - I had a lot of work to catch up with, also I had ING award deadline on Wednesday, and some other things to do and go to bed at 2am. But, man, it was worth it! I did a lot, it was very good and good result always makes me feel better.

Also, there was a second week of my French classes, and I realized that I actually can follow what that guy is saying in that sophisticated language! Yey, I am not hopeless! However, our groups is being reorganized, they are making smaller groups with different levels. Our AIESEC gang (esp the female part of it ;) ) wishes that the current teacher stayed with us.

Wednesday I had a company meeting in Antwerp. That guy I met was extremely interesting, and the meeting itself was very nice and promising. Partnership coming up?.. Stay tuned. It was also as always nice to drop by AIESEC UA office and chat with Bea, Priscilla and other people present there at the moment.

Thursday - an awesome intern drink with some new and long time not seen faces, and later a Business Student Night in Le You. This party was one of the best club parties I have been in Brussels. Well, BSNights are always like that, and it wasn't an exeption. Awesome music, crash test shots, beautiful people around, dance performance and good mood - our great gang of party people (me, Karla, Edu and Pedro) partied till around 4am.

Friday was an extremely slow day. Kevin and Elie were out of the office, we all were in afterparty stage. Hoverver, in the morning we had a greaqt and productive Conference cycle redesign Task Force, which ended with a nice lunch with LC members. My meeting in the afternoon was cancelled, it made a day even slower. Pedro was intensively power-napping in the office,me and Karla doing stuff and watching funny videos to keep us enthusiastic. Later in the evening two of us went for a coffee and shared the amazing feature about humans - how one night can put all the system out of order. But even if we were deadly tired, the coffee talk lasted until 11pm. Great time.

Saturday - I went to Jade Presidents Meeting and EU studies Fair, which was a nice socializing event for me, and later joined the Jade party on the Ric's boat. The party was just awesome, great music, great people, a few incredible conversations and getting home late again... Jaders, it was pleasure to be in your party!!!

Now, I am easy as a Sunday Morning ... having a time off, reflecting and trying to escape from loneliness and find inspiration in various internet sites. And, in AI applications (I DO find them inspiring).

By the way,it is official, I will not be in IPM, as I have to be in the review board on the day of the global village. But I hope my friends will manage without me there ;)

The top-fashion phrase in the office

- Are you going to the gym today?

Three of five MC members (myself included), and also a huge bunch of Brussels interns have inscribed for the gym recently :) And when you go there, be sure you will see someone you know :) SO I guess we ahve a new socializing place :)

Good week

It's been a good week :)
Even though a lot of work is still on my shoulders, but finally results are showing up :) 2 huge company sponsorships in process, better communication with memebers, a little bit of light in setting my own priorities... Lots of interesting things are happening now in @ in Belgium - elections, LC expansion task force, conference cycle re-design, NatCo also seems to be a blast.. Those are the things that make my work exciting. Just wished I had someone to guide me to the right direction and give some motivation sometimes...

Elie is the new elected MCP =) I am happy about him.

Apart from work, my life part is also improved by a superb sound system at my place, crazy aprty at ELSA International house, which ended up with 40 people paryting around, meeting Lithuanian girl over there and just having a good time with other youth organisations. And also David Gray concert, which deserves a separate post.... see below.

Musicroom: David Gray concert

I really have to share this with you :)

Two moths ago, I was sad to find out that the tickets to this concert are sold out. However, I promised myself to go there on the day of the concert and try to get in. And I succeeded.

The show started with Rodrigo y Gabriella performance, which actually was quite impressive. You see a girl and a guy with guitars, but they move their fingers so fast, that you hardly can see anything apart some moving sketchiness around the strings. And the music was great! Live guitar performance was a good start...

...David Gray was Magic. The first time I discovered this singer is by hearing Babylon and since then 'White Ladder' is one of my albums of a lifetime. For the concert my expectations were high, and still they were over-fulfilled...

He came on the stage with all his band, in a suit and looked very excited. He said Hi to the crowd and sat straight to keyboards. The frst song was not the one I knes but it was very very nice. And, luckily, David din't spend all concert at the piano. nd it was sooooo exciting to hear the best songs from White Ladder album, like Babylon, We're not Right, This Years Love, Silver Lining, Please Forgive Me... The latter one was really exclusive, musicians went crazy, audience as well :) The song itself is very nice, has different variations, pauses, fades, and live it looked just great, the crowd sang together for almost all the song!

Please forgive me

If I act alittle strange
For I know not what I do.
Feels like lightning running through my veins
Everytime I look at you
Everytime I look at you ...

In this concert I was totally in another planet :)

Every single person on the stage was an artist, and they were dedicated to music they are playing, you could tell. A crazy drummer, who was changing his face expressions according to the rythm he was beating and also having time to warm up the public... the chelo player, the other muscians, they all were not just performers, they were true artists :)

Maybe it sounds too surraeal to be true, and I may not be too objective as David's White Ladder is in my top 10 albums of a lifetime (it was released in 1998!) , but the concert itself was organized very well. All the settting of the stage, all performers, the concert itself was long and Bis was also more than one song :)

However, this concert was so in the right time and place for me... It is really healing my soul from the crazy life that I'm living at the moment. It seems that his music now fits the best with my mindflow.

So yeah, the new album Life in Slow Motion is in my playlist all the time, and Now and Always is one of the songs I tend to repeat a lot :) I cannot help it, it's just so good :)
